Going off to college made me realize

Going off to college made me realize just how awesome the people and community at Gunn really is. No where else have I been surrounded by such amazing and diverse students who foster such an open-minded, caring, accepting, and supportive community. I miss being able to see my fellow Gunn students on the daily but I know that I’ll always be a part of the Gunn community. 🙂 This is why HMGGMH.

As an alumni seeing all

As an alumni seeing all of the articles about my school and cdc visit makes me excited yet saddened that it had to come to this. That it took so long to trigger such a response. What I’ve learned is really once a titan always a titan. It’s like a brotherhood or sisterhood of titans.

When I see the transformation of people

When I see the transformation of people recognizing that these tragedies are a result of mental illness instead of blaming school administration, parents, or anything else, I see the possibility of mental health receiving more attention in our community and the stigma slowly being worked away. Gunn gives me hope because

Gunn gives me hope because even though we are an entirely new group of students, we are still able to react to our tragedies in supportive and caring ways. Although I certainly have not yet fully processed what has happened, our school has already gone to the ends of the earth to help students that are reeling. The students and the teachers that I see walking around during their preps looking for the kid that is alone and giving them a hug, whether they know them or not, are why HMGGMH.

The minute you stop giving a

The minute you stop giving a [****] what people say or think about you, is the minute you start living a more fulfilling and kick-ass life. No one can tell the future, let alone YOUR future, so don’t let anyone keep you from doing what YOU want!

The bonds established in high school

The bonds established in high school are ones that you will cherish forever. My heart goes out the Gunn community. Although I’ve been out of Gunn for some years, my memories Gunn and the people I met there have stayed with me and continue to inspire me. Stay strong and look out for each other. You are loved and thought of. Once a Titan, always a Titan ❤
